On the evening of May 20th, 2022, Professor Wang Fan, President Assistant of Sun Yat-sen University and Dean of the School of Business, delivered a lively and inspiring professional guidance open class for the undergraduates of Economics and Management enrolled in 2021.
At the beginning of the open class, Dean Wang Fan, based on his own experience and background, pointed out that future economic and social development requires inter-disciplinary talents with diversified and cross-disciplinary integration ability. Continuously improve yourself in practice. The study of economics and management requires not only an open attitude academically, but also continuous self-improvement in practice.
Through the internal and external factors of enterprises, Dean Wang Fan analyzed the micro-foundation of the country's high-quality development - enterprises, extended the high requirements and new tasks for Business Administration discipline construction and academic research in the context of new development paradigm and high-quality development, and summarized the key elements for understanding the future trends from two aspects: integrating Chinese and Western management wisdom, and technology-driven management innovation. At the same time, he introduced the reform of undergraduate education and course innovation in the context of the new era from four aspects: situation analysis, multi-model exchange, empirical analysis, and course innovation.
Dean Wang Fan pointed out that learning, thinking, action and innovation abilities are core elements to lead the future. As students in the economics and management major of Sun Yat-sen University, we should take advantage of the opportunity period of superposed major strategies such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
